Susie

Brayberry’s Rosemerry

The first foal of the season is always exciting.  And so much more when she’s a she and dark spotted to boot!  We assume this little girl will mature to be black and white spotted.   Main Event has been throwing the “blue eyed” gene to many of his recent foals and she is no exception.

She was named Black Eyed Susan originally but that was before we realized she had the blue/gray eyes AND her new owners are huge fans of Lord of the Rings.  Cathy and Bruce picked out her buddy (at only 5 days old) which they named Frodo. When this beautiful little girl became available they snatched her up.  The only problem was Frodo’s friend (in the movie) was Merry.  Black Eyed Susan “Suzy” just didn’t work…so they let us know she would be called Merry at their place.  Since she was yet to be registered it only seemed reasonable to change her name.  As most (all but 2) of the foals born here have been named after plants/flowers/herbs… it was decided that she would be Rosemary, oops Rosemerry.  So Frodo and Merry it is.  BFF

This little girl has got the moves!  If you don’t believe it just watch the little video of her pestering her momma.  We laughed as we noticed she was already doing tricks at 5 days old.
